Digital Photography
Our popular Digital Photography program at IMC is splitting into two Sessions in 2012, Basic and Advanced. Campers are encouraged to carefully consider which would be the most appropriate program, so that the artist-teaching faculty and the fellow campers will be able to make the best use of time and resources during each Session.
The Basic Digital Photography Session is designed for campers with some experience with photography and with digital media software applications. The artist-teachers will guide students through the process of learning about your cameras and photographic techniques to creating artistic images you'll be proud to display and share. Some of the topics will include how to capture images with digital cameras, exploring how to make the best use of technology and photographic software, commercial photography, and strategies for printing and exhibiting. Campers will exhibit their work at the end of the week. (There will be an additional supply fee of $20.00 to help cover the cost of materials.)
The Advanced Digital Photography Session is intended for campers with three years' or more experience with digital photography, a good understanding of digital cameras and photographic software, and preferably some formal training or experience (classes, lessons, mentorship) with an artist-teacher. This would include campers who have attended at least 2 previous Digital Photography Sessions at IMC. Campers participating in the Advanced Session should expect an intense, fast-moving program that will greatly expand technical and creative expertise. Campers will exhibit their work at the end of the week. (There will be an additional supply fee of $20.00 to help cover the cost of materials.)
Students are expected to bring their own cameras.
Both Sessions are open to participants who have completed grade 7 through adult.
