World Percussion
Students will play and sing, listen and move as our professional artist-teachers take you on a virtual "world tour!" Participants in this one-week session will discover music, instruments and culture from West Africa, Brazil, and the Caribbean. We are adding a new culture area for the 2012 season: the Trinidadian Steelband! The week will conclude with an exhibition concert. World Percussion is open to students who have completed grade 7 through adult. Non-percussionists are welcome, and some previous music experience is preferred.
