Music Composition
The new Composition session is for musicians interested in the process of writing music. Students will learn about developing creative ideas and bringing them to life as performances that you can hear at camp, as well as how to continue the process when you get home. Participants will study compositional techniques, as well as methods for notating or recording music you have written. IMC Composition students should have a basic understanding of music theory and performance, and some instrumental experience is preferred (piano, guitar, band or orchestra). Advanced instruction is offered for students with significant experience writing music. This session is open to students who have finished grade 7 or older.
