Registration

Registration for all students attending Sessions 1-6 will be held in the Burdick Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday afternoon between 12:30 and 3:00 pm CDT.

Students must pay the balance of their tuition and lesson fees at this time if not already paid. If you are receiving a scholarship, please check with your school to see if the fees have been sent.

A Jazz Ensemble is available for and students during sessions 1, 2 & 3. More information is available when you arrive at camp.


Housing & Meals

Students and adults will be housed in open dormitories and cabins. All room assignments are made prior to camp at the time each student's registration is received. Each person must bring his or her own sheets, blankets, pillow, sleeping bag, etc. Evenings are cool so sleeping bags are excellent. You will also need to bring your own towels, toilet articles, etc. Students are expected to help with dorm duties. "Roommate preference" reservations will be held for two weeks, or until May 15, whichever comes first.

Meals are served in the camp dining hall. The first meal of each session will be the Sunday evening meal. Any student requiring special meal preparation should contact the camp prior to arriving.

Students staying over a Saturday night will be charged a $15.00 USD fee to cover the cost of meals and supervision, unless registered for both weeks.


Passport Update

Passports will not be required for any US or Canadian citizen who visits the International Peace Garden or the INTERNATIONAL MUSIC CAMP. An exemption to the passport law (WHTI) will allow students, families and other visitors to pass through Customs with a birth certificate. A photo ID is also required for those 16 and older. Each passenger in every vehicle will be expected to present these documents!

IPG & IMC will issue dated cards, which students and guests will present to Customs officials to verify visitor status. This special exemption applies only to the Dunseith and Boissevain ports of entry, and is only valid if you return to your country of origin when you leave the International Peace Garden.

Passports will be required for US citizens to travel to Canada and for Canadians to enter the US.

It's very important to be prepared, regardless of what you need in order to pass through Customs. If you do need to apply for a new passport or passport card, please allow plenty of time!

Notice to Canadian Families from Canada Border Services Agency
When travelling to and from the International Peace Garden, while not required, a passport is the preferred form of identification to expedite your processing when re-entering Canada. Visiting the International Peace Garden does constitute exiting Canada and proper I.D. must be presented to gain re-entry. Student Bank

Students are strongly urged to bank spending money with the IMC Bank. The camp is not responsible for lost or stolen money. Deposits can be made during registration on Sunday. Students will be able to access their bank account at the Administration building beginning Monday at 3:00 pm.


Locks

All dormitories have cubbies that can be locked. If you are assigned to one of these dorms, you may rent a lock for $5.00 (USD). $3.00 will be refunded upon return of the lock and key at the end of your stay at camp. Locks may be checked out at registration. Sorry, no personal locks may be used.


Phones

IMPORTANT! Phone Cards are available at the IMC Office or the Concession Stand. $5.00 for 60 min of camp phone use. Cell phones are NOT ALLOWED at IMC.


Camp Photos

An official camp photo is taken during each session. Copies may be purchased on Saturday. Informal pictures will also be taken for IMC promotion throughout the week.

Students wishing not to be included in the informal photos and videosshould indicate this on their 2014 health form.


Final Concerts & Recitals

We ask that students do not leave camp before the final performance or exhibition.

All performances are free and open to the general public. Concert Schedule

Parents may purchase lunch and eat with their child on Saturday afternoon. Tickets are available at the cafeteria door.

In preparation for departure, it is suggested that students remove all personal items from dormitories before the final concert or exhibition.

Camp Recordings

CD's of the bands, choirs and orchestras are available for purchase at the end of each week. They will be mailed out to the students in December.
